Ah! HANDS suck!

^-^ This is my latest piece. ( and I had a hard time naming this...>.> )

Her eyes turned out so nice! :noes: Her skirt was a pain in the ass to color though. :shake: Black is a hard color to shade. :P

Her name comes from the fact I imagine she's the one who writes one's fate down in her books. =P She looks like she would be a lot of fun at parties. I've also borrowed her eyes for my avatar! ^-^

But I really like how she turned out. :aww: Her hair was fun to color.

So please tell me what you think. I would really appreciate it! :D

Hand inked, colored in photoshop.

*Edit: Yuck, I didn't realize how terrible my coloring on the skirt was. ^^; My monitor was brightened as far as I could get it too (The school's computers makes this picture look really bright...) I've tried to fix the skirt.

The shading is nice! And the hair looks really pretty! :aww: It looks good! But the nose seems a tad small (unless her nose is suppose to be small), and I think it would look better if the eyes were a bit smaller so there is more room on the face and the nose is pulled down a little so that it doesn't seem placed in the middle of the eyes. ^^; But the eyes are still beautiful, and it all looks great!
nice job ^o^

^^; Yeah. I did mean to make it that small. When I tried to make it larger I got discouraged, thinking it looked too big then.

Okay, thanks for the tips! Hmm...eyes a little smaller...yeah, I think I can see what you're talking about. It would give her face a more open look, more room.

But thank you! :thanks:

The hands aren't the only things that suck in this pic.

The face is UGLY in all meaning of the word. And the hair is blinding and clitche. FAR too much dodge tool is used in this one, and once again, the anatomy is terrible.

If your planning to do ANYTHING in the art world, quit now and save us some grief.

Hurm, well lets see her… I hope you don’t mine crit ^w^
For one thing the fingers look as though they are quite large if they were opened, and also looks as though her fingers have to many bones! You should probably fix that. Her eyes are way to big and are out of proportion and her ears are too huge, she could look like dumbos cousin ^^
The hair is all shaded funny and there are too many highlights.
Moving downwards~ her arm width does not match her body side and makes her look ‘top heavy’. And you shouldn’t hide her hand behind the book because it shows that you are afraid of drawing hands (as most artist are).
Now the legs, you should have made them longer and worked on the shading for the pants, it looks sloppy and rushed, well… as does the rest of the picture
The background is way out of perspective. As for the books that are hiding the hand, those also look too rushed.
For future reference, try not to rush it and smooth your shading, and if you are trying for the well hated ‘Shiny’ style of art, try looking at *Amuria art, her art is neither sloppy or rushed.
Good luck with your future artwork ^w^

No, I don't mind critic, especially when it's polite.

Thank you. I'll take what you've said into consideration. I know the fingers are too long, I'm still working on hands. As for the hair...I was sort of trying for a shiny/the way highlights fall realistically in hair..heh...

As for the skirt, it was a rushed fixer-upper on a computer that didn't have photoshop. (The computer I used to color this originally has an old monitor that won't brighten any more, so everything looks much darker then it really it. Not a good excuse, but it's the reason why for some of the sloppy shading. Colors blend and darken on my computer...other half is that I'm an amateur)

Again, thank you for the nice critic. I'll continue to practice so I can get better. :)
